Q: When and where are the exams held? A: In Toronto, the exams are held every 2nd and 4th Monday of each month at the RIBO office. At all other centres, the exams are scheduled on an individual basis. Please refer to the Examination Schedule and Centre Form for the nearest location. Q: How do I apply and what do I send in? A: The following must be received in the RIBO office prior to scheduling an examination: completed Individual Registration Application Form, two (2) current passport sized photos, fees in the amount of $180.00 made payable to RIBO. Q: Do I need a sponsor? A: Employment or sponsorship is not required to write the examination, but it is a requirement for registration. Q: What do I study and are there courses available? A: Individuals can study on their own, the material listed under self study information or take a course of instruction offered by the Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario. Q: What if I have a part-time job elsewhere? A: Application for a secondary business exemption must be made to the Qualification & Registration Committee. The Qualification & Registration Committee will review the request and make a decision based on the facts and merits of the application.
