Procedures & Guidelines for Accreditation of Seminars/Courses
Examinations are not a requirement of the Continuing Education Program.
All seminars/courses and home-study programs must be at least one (1) hour or more in length to be eligible for accreditation and must fall within the definitions of Management, Technical and/or Personal Skills categories. In-house seminars/training/workshops given by qualified instructors, leaders or lecturers and meeting the continuing education guidelines can be submitted for accreditation. All home-study programs including audio/video programs must have a workbook component assessed by the provider prior to receiving a completion certificate. Annual Meetings and Affiliate Meetings in general do not qualify for accreditation unless there is an educational component.
For any seminars/courses meeting the standards set for the Continuing Education Program but not listed as RIBO accredited, please submit the seminar/course content and course provider information and we would be pleased to review the material on an individual basis. Individuals who participate/volunteer on industry boards, councils or committees may also apply for accreditation towards the Continuing Education Program.
Please note: A certificate will not be issued by the seminar/course provider unless the individual attended the entire course/seminar.
