The Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario (“RIBO”) is warning consumers that the following firms using the telephone numbers 1-888-857-6699, 613-701-3097 and 226-799-9521 are not licensed to conduct automobile insurance business in Ontario:
• DISCOUNT AUTO INSURANCE BROKERS • UNITED INSURANCE BROKERS • CITIZEN GROUP
The perpetrators have been advertising and distributing flyers stating “Save More than 50% off Auto Insurance”.
Anyone who may have information on the above or who have purchased auto insurance from these firms should exercise caution and are asked to contact Tim Goff at RIBO immediately at 416-365-1900/1-800-265-3097.
