Exam

• $325 per attempt
• Fees are payable directly to the exam provider and are subject to the provider’s terms and conditions.

Annual Licences

All RIBO licences run from October 1 to September 30 and must be renewed prior to expiry. Please refer to renewal information for details.

Individual Licence

The current licensing year is October 1, 2025, to September 30, 2026.

Annual licence fee: $240

Payment must be made online by credit card.

We accept Mastercard, Visa and American Express.

For applications submitted July 1 – September 30:

• The total fee will include:
  • A partial-year fee for the remainder of the current licensing year (set at 50% of the annual fee, currently $120), and
  • The full annual licence fee for the upcoming licensing year ($265, effective October 1, 2026).

Upcoming Licensing Year (October 1, 2026 – September 30, 2027)

• Annual licence fee: $265

Active Firm Licence

Applies to all types of Active Firms (i.e., Corporations, Partnerships, Sole Proprietorships, Consultants, and MGAs).

The current licensing year is October 1, 2025, to September 30, 2026.

Annual licence fee: $600 

For applications submitted July 1 – September 30:

• The total fee will include:
  • A partial-year fee for the remainder of the current licensing year (set at 50% of the annual fee, currently $300), and
  • The full annual licence fee for the upcoming licensing year ($650, effective October 1, 2026). 

Upcoming Licensing Year (October 1, 2026 – September 30, 2027)

• Annual licence fee: $650

Non-Active Firm Licence

If you own a non-active firm, this licence fee must be paid separately, as it is not included in the firm’s bulk payment.

Failure to pay the renewal fee will result in the non-active firm being suspended (Administrative Suspension).

Annual licence fee: $240

For applications submitted July 1 – September 30:

• The total fee will include:
  • A partial-year fee for the remainder of the current licensing year (set at 50% of the annual fee, currently $120), and
  • The full annual licence fee for the upcoming licensing year ($265, effective October 1, 2026).

Upcoming Licensing Year (October 1, 2026 – September 30, 2027)

• Annual licence fee: $265

• Course Provider Fees: $150
• In-House Fees: $50

• Certificate of Authority: $50
• Regulatory History: $50
• Employee Additions to Firm Licence: $50
• General Administration Fee Including Reinstatement Fee: $50

Fees are non-refundable once any licence has been issued or services have been rendered. This includes renewal fees and bulk payments.

Brokerages: No refund will be issued to a firm if a broker leaves their employment. Any recoupment of fees paid is the responsibility of the employer and employee and must be handled directly between the parties.

A full refund will be provided only in cases where payment has been made and no licence issued. This includes situations where:

• An application or renewal is withdrawn prior to licence issuance
• A licence is not issued by RIBO.

Refunds related to examinations are governed by the exam provider’s refund policy and are not administered by RIBO.
