Since October 1, 2016, all Continuing Education (CE) applications are subject to a fee. In addition, accredited courses are subject to a 3-year validation period from the date of approval. Upon expiration, re-application for accreditation will be required.
Be sure you are ready with the following to enable you to complete the form:
Please note: A certificate will not be issued by the seminar/course provider unless the individual attended the entire course/seminar.
All sessions delivered virtually must include a method for monitoring attendance and participation:
For those looking to accredit a conference under a single application, please include the following as part of your application:
You may not allow brokers to ‘pick and choose’ which sessions they attend, if you choose to accredit your conference as a whole under a single accreditation application. Brokers must attend each and every session of the conference. If they miss any section, they will not be eligible to receive RIBO CE hours. Please indicate in your application if any sessions will be occurring concurrently. Cases will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis to determine how RIBO CE hours may be allocated and how attendance requirements will be determined.
Each day of the conference may receive up to a maximum of 3 RIBO CE hours, and a single conference may receive up to 6 RIBO CE hours overall.
If you wish to have each individual section of your conference accredited so that brokers may receive CE hours based on which ones they attend, you will need to submit a separate accreditation application for each of those sessions.
All course accreditation applications must be completed within 90 days of submission. If the application remains incomplete after 90 days, including failure to provide required supporting documents, it will be closed, and the application fee will be forfeited. This fee is considered a processing fee and is non-refundable, regardless of the outcome of the accreditation decision.
An applicant can request an appeal of a decision of any application. Applicants may only request an appeal once.
In the case of an appeal, the applicant must provide detailed reasoning regarding the appeal, requests related to number of hours as well as the CE category must also be justified within the submission.
Any decision following the appeal will be final, even if it differs from the original decision.
