For those seeking nomination, the process for 2022 consists of 3 simple steps:

1) Submit your nominee profile inclusive of a headshot, a brief bio and information about you

2) Check the Nominee Listings page to see if your profile has been approved. Once it is, it will be available to share with anyone you want to nominate you

3) Click on your profile and use the “envelope” to share the link to your profile page with folks you want to support your nomination

For further clarity, below are the regulations related to candidacy and nominations:

The nomination of a candidate for election as a member of the Council in an election shall,

  1. (a)  be in writing addressed to the Manager or his or her designate and sent by regular mail or email;
  2. (b)  be signed by at least fifteen individual members qualified to vote at an election of the Council who shall clearly print or type opposite their signature their name, registration number and the name of the member, if any, with whom they are an officer, director, partner or employee;
  3. (c)  shall identify the candidate as an officer, director, partner or employee of a member employing twenty or more individual members in the Corporation qualified to vote at an election of the Council or as being a sole proprietor or an officer, director, partner or employee of a member employing fewer than twenty individual members and shall state the name of the member, if any, with whom the candidate is an officer, director, partner or employee;
  4. d) shall be delivered to and received by the Manager not later than 4 p.m. on the first Tuesday in the month of September in the year of the election; and(e) shallbedatedandsignedbythecandidateand signify that the candidate consents to the nomination.(2) The following material may be submitted with a nomination of a candidate:
  5. A head and shoulders black and white passport sized photograph of the candidate printed on glossy paper or a negative thereof.
  6. A biography of the candidate of up to 100 words that is confined to professional qualifications and a record of community service.
  7. (3)  No person shall stand for election as a member of the Council at an election unless the person has been nominated as set out in subsection (1).
  8. (4)  As soon as practicable after the receipt of a nomination, the Manager shall notify the candidate in writing that a nomination has been received, whether or not the nomination is in order and, where the nomination is not in order, where it is deficient.
  9. (5)  The failure of the Manager to notify a candidate as required under subsection (4) or the non-receipt of such a notification by a candidate does not invalidate the election.
