Your RIBO License is valid for a one year period starting October 1st. All licensees including individuals, brokerages, MGAs, and non-actives must renew their license prior to August 31st.

If you or a firm were licensed between July 1st and September 30th of 2023 you are not required to complete this year’s renewal (See information for new license holders).

All renewals must be completed by August 31st of each year as per the By-laws stated in the RIB Act.

A grace period notification is sent on September 15th to individuals who have not yet submitted their renewals. This notice confirms that the license will be deregistered (effective October 1st) if the renewal/payment is not submitted prior to the September 30th grace period deadline, it outlines potential penalties (e.g., loss of grandfathered privileges, as well as additional administrative fees and penalties that apply).

For all individuals, Principal Brokers and firms who fail to renew by the grace period deadline of September 30th, a final notice is sent confirming they have been deregistered. Such licenses require a full reinstatement and will be subject to administration fees and penalties.

NOTE: Individuals will no longer be able to access membership portal after September 30, 2023 as in previous years. Instead, a full online reinstatement application will be required after September 30, 2023 (including a $465 fee, Criminal Record Verification, submission of CE hours certificates for October 1, 2022 to September 30, 2023, Employment Confirmation Form and Consent & Notification form)

There is no further grace period beyond the September 30th deadline and no exceptions will be made.

Please plan accordingly to avoid any disruptions to your license.
