Queen’s Survey

In September 2023, RIBO, in partnership with Queen’s University and the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (“FSRA”), released the “Distribution of Auto Insurance Quotes in Ontario, Canada” survey. The survey was open to participants for several months. The objective of the survey was to understand the distribution of quotes for specific consumer groups in Ontario, Canada.

This survey research was led by a Queen’s University (Kingston, Ontario) study team. The study team included Principal Investigator: Prof. Thorsten Koeppl, and Co-Investigators: Dr. Md Moshi, UI Alam and Prof. Sitian Liu, Department of Economics, Queen’s University.

Regrettably, the survey has been suspended due to lower than anticipated participation in the survey that ultimately impacts the usability of the results for research purposes. This experience and feedback from survey participants will be used to inform and improve future research endeavors.

While the survey may have been cancelled, the research is still important and there may be future opportunities for licensees to participate in future consumer protection research.

RIBO, the Queen’s University study team, and FSRA extend our sincere gratitude to all the licensees who participated in the research survey along with the industry participants who helped inform the scope and substance of the research.

RIBO will be providing 1 hour of Management Continuing Education Credits to all Phase 1 and Phase 2 survey participants for their participation. Participants will be emailed a copy of the Continuing Education certificate by February 14th. If you believe you are entitled to credit, and have not received a copy of your certificate by that date, please email accreditation@ribo.com.
